”If you were to spend a week in the wild, and you could only bring five items – what would you pack?”
Have you always wanted to know what it’s like to live only from what nature gives you? To not be dependent on society, or what would happen if you found yourself stranded in the forest with no way back? Then join us on our seven day adventure among the Swedish islands of Ullvettern.
Starting our journey by canoe – not far from the Swedish town of Storfors – we travel from island to island, learning about wildlife and how to find food and shelter, living in peace and harmony with nature. Our main focuses are on fishing, hunting (theoretical only), gathering (mushrooms, berries etc) finding and building shelter, water and making fire. You will learn how to get by using just the basics, and we will take only the most necessary resources with us.
Courses can be led in German, Swedish and English depending on participants.
What you should bring:
Knife
Flashlight
Lighter – We recommend firesteel but anything to light a fire will do.
Sleeping bag
Water bottle
It is recommended to bring a tent if you prefer. Bring warm clothing and prepare for wet weather. The courses only run in summer, but the Swedish weather is unpredictable and the temperatures can sink as low as around 12 degrees Celsius. We recommend good shoes or boots that are waterproof, since we are likely to do a lot of walking.
What we provide:
First aid kit
Canoes and boat equipment
Other necessary tools
Alternative nourishment – We will provide some basic foods in case what we are able to find is insufficient.

Mario & Bianca
About us
Growing up as explorers of the wild, we have lived in the outskirts of the Swedish forest for most of our lives. Throughout the years we have spent our summers in the forests and on the lakes, boating from island to island with dogs and children in tow – only taking the bare minimum with us. Now that our children have grown up and we find ourselves with more free time, the wild is calling us back and we are as passionate as ever about finding ways of living with nature rather than off it.
Mario is a trained hunter with a hunting license, and has plenty of knowledge on our forests and their wildlife.
